Q: What is the difference between long term care and short term rehabilitation? A: Short term rehabilitation residents refer to patients coming from the local acute hospitals such as Saint Johns Regional Medical Center, Community Memorial Hospital and Ventura County Medical Center with the purpose of re-gaining physical strength through physical therapy and/or skilled nursing care, with the ultimate goal of returning home to their love ones. Long term residents refer to any patient that lives at Maywood Acres for an indefinite amount of time.
